Insight and Truth: the essence of Haiku

with Cameron Hindrum January 21  @ 10 – 2

Devonport Regional Gallery

Haiku are written where we meet the world and ask questions of it, and ourselves. This centuries-old poetic form allows us a meditative moment, guiding us towards moments of well-crafted understanding and realisation. This workshop will offer some broad guidelines to consider in the crafting of Haiku, and provide rich opportunities for developing and sharing Haiku. The workshop is intended to be informal, practical, richly creative and inspiring in which there is no teaching or learning, but rather the constant promise of thrilling discovery.

Cameron Hindrum is a poet, teacher and playwright who lives and works in Launceston. He has served as Director of the annual Tasmanian Poetry Festival since 2003.
